Disney Zane

studiosixty:

Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom. Because I need another movie to be really excited about seeing in 2012.

I still think The Fantastic Mr. Fox is Wes Anderson’s best film, in my humble opinion. But this, this looks great. And for the people in the world who don’t get or like Wes Anderson movies, well, you people are odd and and I don’t get you, so, we’re even.

I’m stoked about this movie too.  Although the preview sometimes makes it look like a parody of a Wes Anderson movie.

I found this post because of the author’s stroller rant.  I’m learning all the ins and outs of renting a stroller at Disney World and it’s relatively horrifying.  I’m also a little bit scared about being a rantee instead of a ranter.  It will be my first time with a stroller, so I might commit some of the sins I have hated others for committing.  Nerve wracking!

Disney Movie Scandals

Wasn’t really what I was expecting but the Time article I found on DisMarks about Disney movie scandals was an interesting read.  I didn’t really agree with most of “scandals,” but I like thinking about the historical context of all the films.  I thought they dug a little hard to try to define them as scandals, but it’s a fun article anyway.

I’m anxious to learn more about the Night and Day Short.  I love the shorts almost as much as the movies. View high resolution

The New Muppet Movie

I’m reading about the New Muppet Movie and I’m going to confess, I’m excited.  I love the Muppets of course and I’m actually psyched about the pedigree of the people making this movie.  If you like Flight of the Conchordes, you’re familiar with Bobin, but I’m most excited about the script.  Nicholas Stoller and Jason Segal from “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” are the writers and while you might think that that’s a bad idea, I think that it’s a top notch one.

While those guys are known for their adult comedy, one of the things that has distinguised the best Disney and Muppet productions is their ability to appeal to both the adults and the kids.  We don’t need more stuff that insults my intelligence.  We need stuff like the Muppet Show that I loved as a kid and I still love now.  So I’m going to put myself in the enthusiastic category for the moment.
