Disney’s Pop Century Resort

So I understand the appeal of some of the other resorts, but at the end of the day I find it hard to believe people stay anywhere other than Disney’s Pop Century Resort.  I should say people who aren’t rich anyway.  I’ve stayed at the other resorts and they’re awesome, but I’ve never stayed at any othe resort for $50.

Now I suppose you could stay at one of the All-Star resorts, but you and I both know that Pop Century is the best value resort hands down.  So the question becomes whether the upgrade is worth the money to go to a moderate or a deluxe.  Given that you’re going to Disney World I can’t really figure out why you’d want to spend your money on your room instead of on food or other parts of your trip.  I’d rather have two nights in Pop Century than one in Coronado Springs or Caribbean Beach.

I suppose if I had a lot of money and not much time I might choose differently, but for me I want to spend as much time and as little money as possible in Disney World.

Good Contemporary Resort Article

Good overview article on Disney’s Contemporary Resort.  For whatever reason that article directory has really good Disney World articles.  They have some particularly good stuff on the resorts and the parties.  I think it just got around among the good Disney sites that they could get good backlinks there, I guess.

Animal Kingdom Lodge Music

I’ve long been a fan of the AllEars page on the music at one of my favorite resorts.  Sadly this AKLResort.com post, Animal Kingdom Lodge Music, points out some minor inaccuracies.  It also has links to all the albums which I think are good ideas.

I always find this music really relaxing when I’m in the lobby.  Even better you can go out to this viewing spot and just sit in a rocking chair and relax.

Animal Kingdom Lodge Primer

Good start on an Animal Kingdom Lodge Primer here.  Has some of the information I mentioned about the Safaris.  Also found a good post on the Gift Shops.  Is anyone going to AKL soon?  I’m really jealous.

Pop Century Preferred Rooms

Been absent for a while.  I had queued a bunch of posts but of course Tumblr’s queuing system hates me and either posts 0, or 2 every day depending on my settings.

Anyway here’s a good article from the latest Disney Blog Carnival, about Pop Century Preferred rooms:

Pop Century Preferred Rooms: Are they worth the money?

My personal opinion is that a king bed is worth extra money, but otherwise the “preferred” rooms are actually farther from the parking lot than regular rooms and that’s important to me.  Of course if you don’t drive that’s a different story.
