Liberty Tree Tavern for Lunch

Was reading a review of Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch and it got me thinking:  How many restaurants are there where dinner and lunch are completely different?  While the change isn’t as dramatic as it was when dinner was a character meal, it’s still a pretty big difference.  I mainly prefer the lunch, but that’s just me.

Mama Melrose

I thought I’d take a little change of pace today and write about food.  Oh wait, I write about that all the time?  I guess I’ll continue then, by talking about a great option in Hollywood Studios:  Mama Melrose.

I’m not going to lie, this restaurant is largely like having a Carabba’s inside a Disney theme park, but honestly that’s not half bad.  It’s cool and nice and relaxing and you can usually get a table and the food isn’t bad at all.  It’s not anything spectacular but it’s worth a try.

La Hacienda De San Angel Open!

Woo it’s open!  Disney Food Blog has the menu here.  I personally am somewhat unimpressed by the prices and the selection, but of course I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to Mexican food.  I suspect that they’re pricing in the view of Illuminations into the dinner menu.

Either way I’m likely to try it the next time I’m there.

Speaking of Disney Restaurants

Here’s a list of Disney Restaurants where you can rate them.  It’s not complete yet but I’ve noticed that they’ve been adding to them.  Plus the ones I want to vote for are already available so I can get a head start.  :)

Vitaly on Disney

Vitaly writes about Disney all the time.  I’m pretty sure he was orignally going to blog about finance, but you can tell which one he cares more about.  Talking about the Best Disney World restaurants, he makes a good point:

Of course that’s an impossible question to answer.Best can mean a lot of different things to different people and even in different circumstances. If I have rambunctious kids, fine dining might be out of the question. If I don’t like seafood, that might eliminate others.

Rate the Disney World Restaurants

Here’s a page to rate the Disney World Restaurants.  I can’t pick favorites though!

San Angel Inn Restaurant (via JNad)

Great shot of the interior.  It’s hard to get because it’s so dark in there.  I never really cared for the food at San Angel, but I’m thinking once I move there and get my After 4 Pass and can check it out whenever I want I’ll give it a try again.

I actually would like to try Shutters sometime.  The menu looks kind of interesting. View high resolution

Boma Pictures

Speaking of Boma!  Here’s a bunch of pictures of it.

My Favorite Disney Restaurants Part 1: Boma

One of the reasons I try to limit how often I go to WDW is because of how integral eating is as a part of the vacations.  I thought instead of getting fat by eating there I’d write about all the places I love.

The first one is one of the Animal Kingdom Lodge restaurants.  It’s called Boma and it’s a buffet, but it’s not what you think.  While it does have some boring buffet food for the kiddies, it also has all kinds of interesting “Africa inspired” foods.  While I’m sure they’re not anything like what you’d get in Africa, they do provide an interesting counterpoint to the lack of good ethnic food in WDW.

It’s pretty busy though, so plan ahead.
